Welcome to the new age of training!  From calorie counters and run trackers apps, gadgets are managing our workouts while keeping our training fun and trackable.  Now a days you can hit a few buttons on your iPhone and track your jog via GPS to gage your accurate distance and speed or learn and see new exercises on your iPod screen.  The times they are a changing so you’ve gotta get hip to this new kinda cyber-training.

Here’s a few apps and gadgets that I personally use and some I plan on trying out.  The whole idea of this is to cut out the guess work of training to maximize your workouts.  It’s all about managing fitness into our busy lives.  So take the guess work out of your training so you can focus on the fun part…. sweating.

The iPhone LIVESTRONG App

The LIVESTRONG.COM Calorie Tracker application is the companion tool to The Daily Plate service, available for $2.99 at the iPhone App Store. The Daily Plate at LIVESTRONG.COM helps you determine a daily calorie target based on your weight and weight goal. Then you can search the extensive database of more than 525,000 foods for nutritional information including fat, sugar, carbohydrates, cholesterol and more. You can also search 2,000 fitness items and calculate how many calories you can burn with those activities. With a simple tap, you can track how many calories you can consume, burn and net on a daily basis.

The iPhone INFLICT App

INFLICT is an app I’ve been using for over a year. As far as I’m concerned this workout app is second to none. This app gives you a detailed workout map for gym or at home circuit training. The great part is… no heavy machines are required. You can download this app and immediately start your workout. You can also view this app on the INFLICT WEBSITE. It’s great! It’s only $1.99 on the iTunes website.

TRX STRAPS

And finally, TRX Straps have been slowly making their way into homes and gyms. My trainer uses them within most of or workout sessions and I love them!
